Beareavement Counselling
Who are bereaved people?
All of us at one time or another may experience a bereavement.
There are people trying to untangle the past from the present in order to help them find some coping strategies to survive the intensity of emotion that is hitting them as they are grief stricken.
What is bereavement counselling?
Bereavement counselling is about talking about and expressing the reaction to the loss, but also it is about our process to learn to live with that bereavement over time.
A part of bereavement counselling is about giving space to explore any issues or factors (current or historical) that facilitate or hinder that process of adjustment that you are going through.
Who benefits from Bereavement Counselling?
Anyone who is occupied with any type of feelings that are related to a bereavement.
Bereavement counselling is particularly important for people who:
- Are socially a little isolated
- Had a difficult relationship with the bereaved
- Were already having issues around emotional wellbeing as the bereavement happened
Also, if there was a particularly untimeliness of the bereavement, or you has lost an especially significant person in your day-to-day life, then bereavement counselling may be very helpful in helping you deal with what has happened, and how things are.
What will it be like?
