Hypnotherapy is safe and easy

You may be surprised to know that it is actually the client that does the hypnotising, not the therapist.
What I do, as your hypnotherapist, is to use my knowledge to teach you and guide you into the relaxed state so that the therapy work can be done.

You are in control

Naturally, since you are the one who hypnotised yourself, you can also bring yourself back to full wakefulness at ANY time you wish, as fast as you want.

In hypnotherapy, there is nothing that happens in the room that you won’t know about. You can hear everything as it is happening and you’ll find that, as you gently come back to full wakefulness, you will immediately remember everything that happened.

nottingham hypnotherapistHypnosis is also called an altered state, which to some people can sound scary

Many people have asked me whether they’ll end up saying embarrassing things while they are hypnotised or reveal more than they are comfortable with. The answer is ‘No, not at all.’ Every day we all go into altered states of consciousness regularly.

Have you ever become really engrossed in a good movie, for instance, or driven to work on autopilot?

Well, that’s an altered state of consciousness ‘ the same as hypnosis. Although deeply absorbed into the movie, or thoughts or feelings, we don’t have a sense of being out of control. We are still being and knowing ‘ourselves’.

Isn’t it interesting that we go into altered states of consciousness regularly and yet we don’t get the positive and rewarding changes in our lives that we enjoy via hypnotherapy? Well, that’s because during a hypnotherapy session, you don’t just go into the altered state, but while you are there, you do something.

The ’something’ that is done, in the altered state, depends very much on what the problem is and what are the results that you want.

You may listen to a set of personalised suggestions, perhaps you’ll be visualising yourself in familiar situations taking various options, or you may have a conversation with me about the issues you’ve come about. Or perhaps a combination of all of the above will take place.

If I want to change something why can’t I just do it without hypnotherapy?

Why can’t I just tell myself to stop the unwanted behaviours and get the results that I want? Oh, if only it were that easy! It can be puzzling and frustrating when we consciously want one thing but find ourselves (unconsciously) doing the opposite.

Using hypnotherapy gives access into the unconscious part of the mind and thereby gain therapeutic insights that were previously inaccessible. During this time you feel relaxed and completely natural.

At the end you’ll feel refreshed, revitalised and inspired

Armed with the new power from within, you will then unlock infinite potentials for health, happiness and self-empowerment.

In general, the higher your level of commitment, the better and quicker are your results. So, if you really want to change, YOU WILL. Knowing that the process of HYPNOTHERAPY NEVER FAILS TO BRING DESIRED RESULTS is the key to your success. Using hypnotherapy always enables you to get the results that you want.

The amount of sessions that it takes to achieve your results can vary between one or two sessions to about six or ten sessions.

A note about medical conditions

If you have any medical condition and you are concerned about whether or not hypnosis will help or conflict, then do ask your GP.

However, it has been found that over long periods of time, hypnosis tends to “potentiate” medication, which means that if you are currently taking medication, after a series of hypnosis sessions you find that you need less of the drug.

Many informed doctors favour hypnosis as they realise that it can often complement traditional medical care.
